ESA-Audit – This
was a combined ESH program assessment and an
ESA for the largest petrochemical operation
in South Korea going through an M&A and
required skilled team members in each area
to comprehend the risk and liability issues
for each program element. The team was made
up of US expert auditors and local auditors
to provide the best combination of skills to
present the company in the best light given
the entire factual summary. Excellent report
writing skills were critical in such an M&A
of an existing and high valuable operation.
The client was very happy with our work and
remains one of our leading client
references. |

ESA – Conducted a
simple ESA for a former laboratory and
parking lot. This is a simple and straight
forward ESA, but done in a country where
there are no data available. Thus
professional judgment and knowledge of local
practices are important in determining the
risks and liabilities. |

Env’l Odor
Investigation – Responded to odor complaints
from neighbors. Reviewed their operation for
the stack emissions and all air testing data
in reference to permits and air regulatory
requirements of Korea. The neighbors were
small scale farmers and they were
complaining that their crop was
deteriorating. When all review indicated
compliance with all legal requirements, the
solution was appeasement and settling with
the neighbors. |

EEI was awarded a
contract for ESH Audit for all of their Asia
facilities, the contract size was
potentially $300,000 and the first Korea
audit was completed successfully. However,
due to long-term hospitalization of the
Project Manager, the contract was later
cancelled with mutual agreement. The client
was happy with the services provided and
also referred EEI to General Motors
Corporation and we continued to work with GM
in 2003. |
